When did Valheim 1.0 release?

Valheim left Early Access and launched version 1.0 on September 9, 2026. Early Access had started on February 2, 2021.

Which platforms can play Valheim 1.0?

Steam on Windows, Linux and macOS, the Mac App Store, the Humble Store, the Microsoft Store for Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. PS4 is not supported.

Does Valheim support crossplay?

Yes. Valheim 1.0 supports full crossplay between all supported platforms. Cross-platform save syncing only works for Xbox players who launch the Microsoft Store version on PC.

How much does Valheim cost?

The standard U.S. Steam price is $29.99 as of September 11, 2026, and regional prices can differ. If you already owned the Early Access version, it updates for free.

Do old saves still work after 1.0?

Yes. Existing saves are untouched and remain playable. Iron Gate recommends starting a new world for the best experience, and new biome content only generates reliably in unexplored areas.

Does Valheim 1.0 have official mod support?

No. Iron Gate states there is no official mod support, no Steam Workshop and no console mods at 1.0. Mods may take time to become compatible.

How many players can join one Valheim world?

Valheim 1.0 supports 1 to 10 players per world, including online co-op and player-hosted dedicated servers.
